New York, NY, September 1, 2009 - Star of the hit USA Network show “Royal Pains”, Reshma Shetty, will host the Pama and Sagatiba sponsored City Harvest Charity Event on Thursday, September 17, 2009 from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM at La Pomme, located at 37 West 26th Street.
Reshma Shetty currently stars on the new hit USA Network series "Royal Pains" as Diva Katdarde, the striking physician's assistant to Mark Feuerstein's Dr. Hank Lawson. Shetty, who is of Indian descent, grew up in England before moving to the states just shy of her junior year in high school. With a passion for music, Shetty originally pursued Opera and is a graduate of the famed Opera department at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. She is a strong supporter of many charities. Shetty gets her inspiration to support others from people who have come from difficult circumstances and managed to become successful if not for themselves, but in a way that inspires others around them.
Now serving New York City for more than 25 years, City Harvest (www.CityHarvest.org) is the world's first food rescue organization, dedicated to feeding the city's hungry men, women, and children. This year, City Harvest will collect over 25 million pounds of excess food from all segments of the food industry, including restaurants, grocers, corporate cafeterias, manufacturers, and farms. Each week, City Harvest helps over 260,000 hungry New Yorkers find their next meal.
La Pomme is Tommy Tardie’s latest addition to Manhattan’s exclusive lounges. With two weeks of soft openings slated to kick off fashion week, La Pomme, or “the apple” in French, will celebrate its grand opening on September 17, 2009 from 11:00 PM - 4:00 AM. Tardie has created an elegant venue, designed by PR Design Group, with an air of sophistication and undertones of a Fellini-esque atmosphere. With subtle touches, such as celebrity photographer Fadil Berisha’s alluring photo murals, and the unannounced performances choreographed by Ami Goodheart’s Sotu Productions, La Pomme promises to keep the crowd enticed and wanting more each night. "It takes a lot to impress a New Yorker”, according to owner Tommy Tardie. “My goal is to give our guests a unique an ever changing experience that goes well beyond a beautiful crowd and a stunning venue."
