On Monday night, September 13, the brand new Lexington Avenue J. McLaughlin boutiques on 72nd street were buzzing with social and media A-listers and loyal patrons. The guests joined the hosts Jay McLaughlin and Joan McLaughlin, Kevin McLaughlin and Barbara McLaughlin and Steve Siegler and Cecy Siegler for a fabulous night in celebration of the new locations. The new cozy, preppy-meets-contemporary women’s and men’s boutiques are stunning additions to the J. McLaughlin chain. The party was catered by Swifty’s restaurant whose co-owner Robert Caravaggi was there taking some time away from planning the upcoming Fête de Swifty’s. J. McLaughlin has partnered with The Mayor’s Fund of New York donating ten percent of all sales to the cause.

Devoted J. McLaughlin supporters braved the weather; flocking to the store for an evening of mingling and celebrating the much-loved brand. A-list guests included Liliana Cavendish and New York fashion icon Somers Farkas both wearing J. McLaughlin. Interior decorator Milly de Cabrol and designer Liz Lange came out to celebrate a fellow luxury brand. Among the other guests was Executive Editor of Quest, Georgina Schaeffer, New York social regulars Elizabeth Peabody, George Farias, Jeffrey Podolsky, Jane Wagman, Amy Mazzola Flynn and her daughter Christina and Muffie Potter Aston many of whom donned J. McLaughlin signature pieces. The architect of the marvelous new boutique, Doug Larson, came by with wife Tori Larson to see his creative visions realized. Jay and Joan McLaughlin’s children John McLaughlin, Julie McLaughlin and Chris McLaughlin arrived to celebrate their family’s growing business. Felice Axelrod from the Mayor’s Fund also joined the festivities that are helping to promote the development of New York City. The Mayor’s fund partnership will continue through September 19th at the J. McLaughlin Lexington Avenue location. The window displays at the women’s store showcase the new ribbon skirt and ribbon dress that are coveted looks for fall. Guests left the party with a signature J. McLaughlin ribbon key-chain and delicious ribbon sweets printed with the J. McLaughlin logo.
