Sales of Whitney Houston records surged last weekend, as news of her death on Saturday spread and she was honored at the Grammy Awards on Sunday night.According to Nielsen SoundScan, which tracks music retailers, sales of Ms. Houstons albums had a nearly 60-fold increase, almost all of it coming as digital downloads. In the week that ended Sunday, she sold 101,000 albums in the United States, up from 1,700 the week before. Last week, 91,000 of her album sales were downloads, compared to 500 the week before. (SoundScans publicly reported figures are rounded.)Track downloads also surged, along with radio play and online streams.
