Going into the nominating process for the annual fashion awards presented by the Council of Fashion Designers of America, there was a lot of debate as to what celebrity or cultural figure would be named this years icon. After awards have been handed out to Michelle Obama, Iman and Lady GaGa in recent years, there was a bit of a feeling of whos left?Johnny Depp was a surprise choice, if not an inspired one.
