US Airways Flight 1549 bound from LaGuardia to Charlotte, North Carolina, having plunged into the Hudson River yesterday afternoon with 155 aboard. Thanks to the deft hero of a pilot Capt. C.B. Sully Sullenberger, the emergency landing, having cleared the GW Bridge by about 900 feet, was successful. Capt Sullenberger walked the length of the plane helping evacuees and was The LAST to leave the aircraft. The Right Stuff. NYSD's Alexandra Lebenthal pointed out later that a little bit of karma was floating around literally for everyone on the plane which included 23 Bank of America employees working on the Merrill Lynch Deal, and 3 Wachovia/Wells Fargo employees.
