About edit

The James Beard Foundation is a national not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization based in New York City. Its mission is to celebrate, preserve, and nurture America’s culinary heritage and diversity in order to elevate the appreciation of our culinary excellence. Their diverse programs include workshops, classes, conference, readings, and other educational experiences that help people learn about and engage with food. They offer scholarships to culinary students who need financial support to pursue careers in the food and beverage industry. They also administer the annual James Beard Foundation Awards, which recognize and honor excellence among chefs, cookbook authors, food journalists, restaurant designers, and others working in the food and beverage industry.
