New York Stage and Film (SAF) is a non-profit company dedicated to both emerging and established artists in the development of new works for theater and film. Founded in 1985 by Producing Directors Mark Linn-Baker, Max Mayer, and Leslie Urdang and entering its 25th season in 2008 under the leadership of Artistic Director Johanna Pfaelzer, SAF has played a significant role in the development of new plays, provided a home for a diverse group of artists free from critical and commercial pressures, and has established itself as a vital cultural institution for more than 8,500 residents of the Hudson Valley and the New York metropolitan region.
