The Pink Agenda, formerly known as Saving Second Base, was born over a few too many glasses of wine, and we’ll celebrate our first anniversary in much the same way at our Annual Spring Gala, which is taking place on Thursday, May 15 in New York City. Click here for complete details.
Although our name has changed since the organization’s inception, our cause—and our commitment to it—remains the same. The Pink Agenda (TPA) is an organization of young professionals committed to raising money for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) and Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the country's most effective and efficient breast cancer research and direct care service organizations. We hope that our efforts will not only expedite the eventual discovery of a cure for the disease, but that the awareness we raise amongst those in our generation will result in earlier detection, as well as an understanding of where to go for support and resources if ever faced with a breast cancer diagnosis.
We’re more committed to this mission now than ever before, as the disease we’re striving to eliminate recently claimed the life of Lisa Mae Lee, the mother of The Pink Agenda Founder and President Marisa Renee. Lisa’s brave battle against breast cancer has—and always will—inspire our efforts to engage today’s generation to find tomorrow’s cure. That’s our agenda. What’s yours?
