NEW YORK CITY GOES GREENHOUSE
New York, NY (October 6, 2008) "This October, New York City nightlife will go green, in the form of GREENHOUSE, the first L.E.E.D. registered eco-friendly nightlife destination. A bi-level 6,000 square foot nightclub, lounge, and event space built from recycled or recyclable materials, Greenhouse will go the extra mile to receive L.E.E.D. certification which is awarded by the United States Green Buildings Council, for  environmentally conscious construction and design.

Greenhouse is located at 150 Varick Street, in SoHo, and is designed to be a unique green experience. One of Greenhouse`s most spectacular attributes is the transparent ceiling fixture, compromised of over 5,000 individually hung crystals, which is designed to emulate a rolling landscape. The bars will be clear recycled glass panorama designs, which will display lush natural scenes. With two floors and two separate sound systems, Greenhouse offers multiple VIP sections both upstairs and down, and a raised performance stage and backstage section.

The venue will also showcase several luxurious and eco-friendly brands. The Kohler WaterSense products, being used in Greenhouse, were developed in partnership with the United States Environmental Protection Agency. In addition, the bathrooms will feature the KiehlsAloe Vera, Biodegradable Liquid Body Cleanser the first Cradle to Cradle certified beauty product developed in partnership with Brad Pitt to support Eco Systems. Building components in the space include fabrics made from recycled materials, bamboo floor and wall coverings, LED lighting, FSC wood taken from forests that are managed to meet the social, ecological, and economic needs of present and future generations, recycled glass, and many other green products. Greenhouse will also utilize a carbon-offsetting program to counter energy used in the construction and operation of the venue.

Greenhouse has already staged a number of high-profile events both in the United States, and abroad at the Sundance Film Festival, Paris Fashion Week, Cannes Film Festival, and the Toronto International Film Festival. Celebrity attendees at these events have included U2, Al Gore, HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, Bruce Willis, Jodie Foster, Felicity Huffman, Mary-Kate Olsen, Colin Ferrell, Michael Keaton, Steven Soderbergh and Benicio Del Toro, among others.

Greenhouse has become one of the most eagerly anticipated nightclubs in the history of New York City. The eco-sensitive initiative behind Greenhouse is furthered by its commitment to raising awareness and welcomes partnerships with groups who are concerned with the preservation of our planet. Greenhouse is dedicated to the support of environmentally conscious charities and anticipates holding a high volume of events that will benefit such causes.
