New York, NY (September 4th, 2008)Couture fashion designer Michael Mione showcased his Spring 2009 women's line for Mione designs at Country Club in NYC on September 4th. Friends and fashion enthusiasts including Devorah Rose, William DeMeo, Colette, Kathleen Giordano, Tia Walker, Anna Khayot, Lydia Lee, Matthew Lipman, Evan Pazol, Hannah Gershenson, Justin Lee, celebrity hairstylist Alma G., Jamie Chang, and Angela Severiano were on hand to support the designer. The 14-piece collection, which was inspired by the hues and textures of the sea, showcased Mione's classic style and introduced his line of ultra luxe trench dresses.
Mione believes that all women are sexy, no matter their size, shape or ethnicity, and designs all his pieces with this in mind. The Spring collection was no exception; the line includes pieces meant to flatter women of any size and age. The collection is versatile and accessible and exhibits structured silhouettes with exquisite workmanship.
Mione began his fashion career after graduating from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 1992. After completion at F.I.T., Michael interned with Emmy Award winning designer Bob Mackie where he learned his most valuable lesson is that clothing must reflect the beauty of a woman, both inside and out. Michael later held positions at Victoria Secret and Neiman Marcus. Through these positions he was able to study the buying patterns of women and learn what is most important to female consumers. Michael soon began to translate this knowledge into his own designs.
After the successful showing of his premiere collection at Harry's Loft, in 2005, he decided to move on to his second passion, bridal wear, creating a May 2006 line for the Wedding Channel Couture Fashion Show. In February of last year, Michael joined the USA Fashion Shows Couture week at the W hotel.
