| About | edit |
He is the founder of CoSA/The Company of Science and Art, makers of Adobe AfterEffects.
He is a member of Emergency Broadcast Network, EBN, a touring multimedia performance project that pioneered the still nascent art of live video instrumentalism and immersive, surround video projection.
He is the founding CTO of IFILM.com, now part of MTV Networks.
Deocampo's art installation work includes Phish's New Year's Eve 1998: An Udder Ball, a library of animations improvisationally synchronized with the band's instrumental performance, and screened with a network of video projectors and specialized processors onto an inverted geodesic dome covering the scoreboard at Madison Square Garden; Video Baby Grand Piano; and a bot-generated oil painting of solar explosion data sent from a device near the planet Saturn.
In 1999 he conducted an experiment in “video turntablism” at Ars Electronica with Mix Master Mike. From 2000 through 2002, as “DJ CTO,” Mr. Deocampo conducted experiments in visual dance music throughout the Hollywood underground. During this time he also set up the first version of Prince's pioneering online music service, the NPG Music Club. Deocampo started working with Eclectic Method, a trio of video turntablists from London, in 2006.
Since 2003 he has focused on applying web services, grids, and clusters to commercial digital video and public biodefense.
