John Pitts has lived in New York for twenty years where he is currently VP, Marketing Director of Doubleday. He lives in lower Manhattan with his wife, Terri, and toddler daughter, Grace. He also has a college-age son, Spencer. John grew up in Providence, RI, attended Moses Brown, Choate, the Lawrenceville School and the University of Vermont. Immediately after college he joined the Peace Corps where he served for two years as an English teacher in Niger. After the Peace Corps, John moved to Boston where he eventually secured a position in the publicity department of the book publisher, Houghton Mifflin. From there to Doubleday with brief stays in New Canaan and Greenwich, CT before moving to Manhattan. John enjoys skiing, golf, tennis, photography, and teaching Grace bad karate moves. When the wind is following, he bikes to work, which means he rides into the wind on the way home.
