Biography edit
Dulcie Dee was born in New York. She is the granddaughter of Dee C. Chuan, the founder of the China Bank Corporation in Manila. She received her MFA from The Academy of Art University, SF and BFA from the University of the Philippines. Her work is a Zen fusion of East and West. Each painting pulsates with rich, vibrant, tropical colors painted with clarity, precision and with a free-flowing sense of subject, texture, shade and color. Her enigmatic paintings of lovely, demure yet sensuous Geishas reveal the erotic sensuality of the female body. International connoisseurs and art lovers from 14 countries, including the United States, Australia, Philippines, Japan, Singapore, Germany, France, and Bermuda have purchased her paintings for their private collections. Her paintings have been displayed internationally and nationally including The National Arts Club in NY, The Alameda Historical Museum in California, the FusionArts Museum in NY, Hiraya Gallery and the GSIS Museum of Art in Manila, Stamford Center for the Arts in Greenwich Ct., The Museum of the Americas in Miami, Florida and recently at the Monkdogz Gallery. She is represented by Monkdogz Urban Art Gallery in Chelsea, NY (www.monkdogz.com). Dulcie authored and illustrated “ABC Coral Reef” an ABC alphabet book to teach young children about the tropical fish in the Pacific Ocean. She resides in NYC.
