About

LUX seeks to show the modern juxtaposition of idealist urban parties and scenes with the mythical qualities of typified heroes and villains that can be found in the grandness of the modern New York.

Every day is full of masques, of chance encounters, and full of individuals seeking to connect through these scenes. Some resemble parades, rites, or even fairy tales. Some of these party scenes show the people to be individuals, others to be broad self-made caricatures.

Ultimately, the paintings tell stories which comment on our late capitalist society via the bread and circus games of a new millennium: Escapism is at its finest, caught by light both natural and artificial.
